These are primarily <strong>one-time payments<\/strong>. There is no legal entitlement to these scholarships, and limited funds are available, meaning students who meet the requirements often do not receive a scholarship.  <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Merit-based scholarships<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p>The respective Dean&#8217;s Office is responsible for this and awards the scholarships individually. Submit the application to the Dean&#8217;s Office. The required grade point averages and submission points are published in TU Wien&#8217;s <g id=\"gid_0\">bulletin<\/g> (Call for Applications 2023). The overall academic performance in a degree program within the relevant academic year (October 1 to September 30 of the following year) is assessed.   <\/p>\n\n<p>Target group: Austrian citizenship or equivalent status according to \u00a7 4 STudFG<br\/>Application deadline: by mid-October<br\/>Forms: on your Dean&#8217;s Office homepage<br\/>Legal basis: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ris.bka.gv.at\/GeltendeFassung.wxe?Abfrage=Bundesnormen&amp;Gesetzesnummer=10009824\">StudFG<\/a><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grants<\/h4>\n\n<p>The respective Dean&#8217;s Office is responsible for this and awards the scholarships individually. They are full or partial funding for studies. There are many partner universities with various programs. They help you find the right program and assist with both the application and implementation. Inquire about what you need to consider a year before your planned semester abroad.   <\/p>\n\n<p>There is <strong>funding for conference travel<\/strong>, which is also handled by the International Office.<\/p>\n\n<p>International <strong>summer courses<\/strong> can be attended through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bestvienna.at\/\">BEST<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Internships abroad<\/strong> can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaeste.at\/\">IAESTE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Federal States<\/h2>\n\n<p>Various federal states award scholarships for specific target groups. Search the scholarship database <a href=\"https:\/\/grants.at\/de\/\">grants.at<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/transparenzportal.gv.at\/tdb\/tp\/startpage\">Transparency Portal<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Third-country nationals<\/h2>\n\n<p>In most cases, <strong>NO<\/strong> suitable scholarship from Austria is available. We recommend that third-country nationals check scholarships from their home country before moving and ensure <a href=\"https:\/\/htu.at\/financing\/\">sufficient financial resources<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<p>Search the scholarship database <a href=\"https:\/\/grants.at\/de\/\">grants.at<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/transparenzportal.gv.at\/tdb\/tp\/startpage\">Transparency Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work and Study<\/h2>\n\n<p><em>Does the AMS or my employer fund studies?<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>Yes, under certain circumstances, this is possible. Further education grants or special programs are used for this. Contact your AMS for more information.  <\/p>\n\n<p><em>Can I receive unemployment benefits if I study?<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>Unemployment benefits are only received if you are adequately available to the labor market. You will no longer be able to pursue your studies full-time to meet this requirement. Generally, different regulations apply to students for receiving unemployment benefits.
