{"id":33584,"date":"2024-09-28T19:10:02","date_gmt":"2024-09-28T17:10:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/htu.at\/for-student-representatives\/tuition-fee-exemption\/"},"modified":"2026-07-09T17:43:48","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T15:43:48","slug":"tuition-fee-exemption","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/htu.at\/en\/for-student-representatives\/tuition-fee-exemption\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuition Fee Exemption"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Rectorate&#8217;s directive for the exemption and reimbursement of<br\/>tuition fees, it is possible to receive a tuition fee exemption for performing certain \u00d6H activities.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other reasons for exemption (excerpt):<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Holding a leadership position in a student team (e.g., TU Racing Team, TU Space Team) for at least two semesters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An employment relationship with TU Wien for at least 20 hours per week<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More information can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuwien.at\/index.php?eID=dms&amp;s=4&amp;path=Richtlinien%20und%20Verordnungen\/Studienbeitrag_Erlass.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rectorate&#8217;s Directive<\/a><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements for Exemption<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The function must have been performed for at least <strong>one full semester<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The period in which the functions were performed must <strong>not be more than six semesters<\/strong><br\/><strong>ago<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications must be submitted to the Admissions Office by <strong>March 31st in the summer semester<\/strong> and by <strong>October 30th in the winter semester<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the initial application, activities for <strong>at least <code>1\/2<\/code> semesters of exemption<\/strong> must have already been performed (this is rounded up).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who does this regulation apply to?<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You must have held a position from the following list. This<br\/>results in \u00bd tolerance semester. From \u00bd onwards, it is rounded up, so you receive a full semester.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are in a study commission for three semesters, you receive 3 * \u00bc tolerance semesters.<br\/>This results in \u00be tolerance semesters. After rounding, this results in a full semester. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are a first-semester tutor for two semesters and in the faculty council for three semesters, you receive 5 * \u00bc, i.e., 1 \u00bc tolerance semesters.
