Information on grants
The ÖH brochure Studying with a Child provides information about family allowance, maternity allowance, study allowance,…
If you yourself receive a study grant, you will receive a supplement for each of your children. Periods of pregnancy and childcare responsibilities will lead to an extension of the study grant.
Leave of absence at the TU
You have the option of interrupting your studies due to pregnancy and childcare responsibilities without your studies expiring. During this time, however, you will not be able to take exams and you will not receive any study or family allowance for yourself. More information here.
Waiver of tuition fees at the TU
In this case, you can continue your studies but do not pay tuition fees for the semester. Reasons include pregnancy and childcare responsibilities. More information here.
Childcare at the TU
TU Wien offers various services for students. There is TUKS Krabbelstube, TU Kindergarten and childcare services for the holidays. There is also a parent-child room.
There are other offers for TU employees, such as Parent-Coaching.
