Achtung
In order to be able to vote in the Austrian Student Union (ÖH) election, the ÖH fee and any tuition fees must be paid by 25th of March! If you pay later, you are unfortunately not eligible to vote!
Why should I care?
As a student at an Austrian university or university of applied sciences, you are automatically a member of the Austrian student union (ÖH). The ÖH is the statutory representation of the interests of all students, just as the Chamber of Labour is for workers or the Chamber of Commerce is for business people (as it is common in Austria).
The ÖH is divided into three levels in order to be able to provide representation tailored to all your needs:
Study-Program Level
Studienvertretung, StV
University Level (HTU)
Univertretung, UV
Federal Level
Bundesvertretung, BV
The decision-makers at all three levels are elected for a period of two years in the ÖH elections:
Study-Program Level
You can vote for up to five¹ people to be your representatives from all candidates.
¹Up to three for Geodesy
University Level (HTU)
You can vote for one list of candidates from all the lists of candidates partaking at the university.
The representation at the university level consists of 17 seats that will be split between the candidate lists.
Federal Level
You can vote for one list of candidates from all federal lists of candidates.
The representation at the federal level consists of 55 seats that will be split between the candidate lists.
May I vote?
You may vote if these points apply to you:
If you are a TU Wien student, you can check whether you are on the electoral register at the HTU between 3rd and 8th of April
We would particularly like to point out that the following persons are also entitled to vote:
Where do I need to go?
There are usually different polling stations for different degree program at TU Wien. You can vote at the university from 13th of May to 15th of May:
